Summer 2021 to today …

"The idea began when planning a family trip to our beloved Cornwall. When packing for a family of four and the uncertainty of the British weather, you literally need to pack everything but the kitchen sink! So I stitched together a few really large bags with no closings, perfect for stacking clothes, piling high shoes and stashing toys and games. We squished the handmade bags into the car, and the kids even used them to rest on for the five hour drive from London. In Cornwall, I realised they are also the ULTIMATE beach bags.

Back in London, back to the school run. That dreary Monday I collected four children and dropped them to ballet – that’s four backpacks, four ballet kits and four lunchboxes all thrown at me whilst the kids scooted. It was a nightmare. The following week, I brought my big bag, problem solved.

At the School gates parents asked where I was getting these magical bags, so I quickly started making and selling them to local families.  The demand soon got too much for me to handle alone, so I looked for some help from professionals. I am so proud to say that every single product is made in the UK. Our waxed cotton range is made at a fantastic social enterprise in East London, which educates, employs and empowers local women. 

Through word of mouth from our customers, organic growth on Instagram and the generous backing of many female Content Creators, we are growing all the time and have ambitions to one day be a household brand name: known for quality and useful products, excellent customer service with a cool & stylish vibe.

Last spring we hosted our first ever PR Event with 30 Content Creators coming out to support our tiny brand, making absolutely massive bags. And in Autumn we launched our first collab with fashion buyer and stylist Emma Paton - all of the bags sold out within 36 hours!

And we are currently working a celebrity and charity Contents Bag coming in spring 2025.
